Your story
belongs here.
Trift is written by the people who actually went. If you’ve got a guide, a story, or a place you can’t stop talking about — we want to hear it, and we pay for what we publish.
Pitch a storyWhat we’re looking for
Pick the one closest to your idea — it’ll pre-fill the pitch form.
Travel Guides
In-depth, country-by-country. Maps, places you actually went, and the notes you’d give a friend who’s about to book the flight.
Pitch this →Stories from the Road
First-person, long-form. The trip that changed your plans, the person you met, the thing that went wrong. Voice over itinerary.
Pitch this →Tech & Science
The science and technology behind exploration — rockets, reefs, rovers, and the people who work on them.
Pitch this →
Food & Local Spots
A café, a family restaurant, a corner institution. The story of a place and the people who run it — not a review, a portrait.

How it works
- 1
Pitch us
Use the form below — the idea, the place, and why you’re the one to write it. A few sentences is enough.
- 2
We get back to you
If it’s a fit, you get a personal invite link to our writer portal. If it’s not, we’ll tell you — we reply to every serious pitch.
- 3
Write & submit
Draft in the portal at your own pace — text and photos together. Our editors work with you on the edit.
- 4
Get published
Your piece goes live on Trift with your byline and your own author page, alongside our other writers.
Payment
Every published piece is paid
We agree the rate per piece when we accept your pitch — it depends on the format, length, and reporting involved. No spec work: once a pitch is accepted, the piece is commissioned.
Writing about a food spot?
If your piece covers a café, restaurant, or local food business, we may cover the bill for the meal as well — so you can order what the story needs, not what your wallet allows. Agree it with us before you go.
Pitch a story
A few sentences is plenty. Tell us the idea, the place, and why you’re the one to write it.
Pitch received.
Thanks — we read every pitch and we’ll get back to you by email.
